This garment is in pristine condition.  No stains, fading, or  spots.  If it was worn, it was well cared for.  

The lining is also in perfect condition.   The design is highlighted in gold paint.  

Used as a wall hanging it is spectacular.

Traditional Japanese men's clothing is very conservative, usually in dark blue, black, grey and brown colors.   The lining of a man's Haori allows him to show motifs that indicate his particular interests.   This Haori is navy blue material, which appears to have some wool in its composition.   It is heavy and would make an interesting winter coat for either ladies or gentlemen.  The inside lining is pale gray with a silkscreened and hand painted design.
